Alert - Fake Maybank2u website (27 Feb 09)

Well, today I have received another email act as it is from Maybank, but seriously, it is TOTALLY FAKE. But, this one seem rather aggressive... below is the email...


Dear Maybank Customer,

Your account was blocked for security reasons as we discovered a serious problem with your account and system security.

Reactivate your account now by following the below secured location.
http://www.final-online-active.com/M2ULogin.htm

Inactive accounts will be terminated within 2 hours of notice. We are sorry for any inconvenience caused.

Maybank Berhad


As usual, I reported it to Maybank and hopefully proper action is taken.

New Fake Maybank2u Website (Phishing Website) #2

Below is the email I have received this morning that give fake link or Maybank2u phishing website.

Dear Valued Customer,

Maybank2u.com.my has restricted access to your (Savings/Current) account for security reasons. To avoid account deactivation, you are required to to restore access to your account by following the below secured location.

http://www.m2u-activation-2009.com/M2ULogin.htm

Failure to restore access to your account will result in a temporary account suspension.

This time, they put also the real Maybank2u website but ask user to click on another link that will bring user to new Maybank2u phishing site and it still can be access (until this entry is written).

New Fake Maybank2u Website (Phishing Website)

When I check my email inbox today, I have received an email claiming they are from Maybank2u.com. They ask me to login to my account. Below is the email.

Dear Valued Customer,

We are currently experiencing a serious problem with our M2U logon server. Online Access to your account has been restricted. Please follow the below secured location to solve the problem and restore immediate access to your account.

http://www.access2u-2009.com/M2ULogin.htm

Note: Failure to restore access to your account within the next 2hrs may result in a temporary account deactivation.

Since I'm not a Maybank user, it make me curious (actually I know about this stupid fake and phishing thing). So, I report this matter immediately to Maybank2u.com as the link in the email still can be access, which mean it will be risky and dangerous if someone that didn't know about this fake, phishing website enter their login information that can lead to their great lost! Please beware to this type of email because Online Banking service offer by bank will NEVER EVER send email to you!
